Under the direct supervision of a Branch Manager, and the general supervision of an Area Manager, the Mortgage Consultant Trainee will learn how to solicit business from various sources including Realtors, builders, newspaper ads, and other nontraditional sources that are generally within the Long & Foster footprint.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Deliver superior customer service
  • Answers inquires for prospective and existing customers on behalf of the MC on the processing of their loan, Prosperity’s programs, rates, policies and procedures
  • Assists in obtaining necessary documentation from loan borrowers to make a complete file submission to Underwriting. Follows up with customers and vendors to ensure that files are complete
  • Assists MC with marketing efforts to ensure continued flow of business, including preparing marketing materials, identifying customer prospects, and identifying market trends. Prepares and assembles sales materials and other literature
  • Complies with all rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
  • Learn how to use Encompass360 technology

Job Requirements

  • This is an entry-level position with no experience in the mortgage industry necessary
  • College degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • At least 2 years of work experience preferably in a customer service or sales role
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and decision making skills
  • Proven ability to problem solve analyze and formulate conclusions
  • Ability to obtain a mortgage sales license
  • S. work authorization; H-1B sponsorship is not available for this program
